2004 Duramax Diesel

The history of the 2004 Duramax Diesel is indeed distinguished in the annals of diesel pickup truck engineering. The first Isuzu diesel power plant was launched in 1936 and it was in 1997 that both Isuzu and GM agreed that Isuzu would step forth to become the global Center of Expertise for the development of GM diesel engines. A year later, Isuzu and GM started a shared venture to develop and produce the 6.6L Duramax Diesel engine which evolved into the superlative 6600 cc powerplant fitted into each 2004 Duramax Diesel pickup truck.

2004 Duramax Diesel Trucks

Isuzu is one of the leading global engine manufacturers with production facilities in China, Japan, Thailand, Poland, Turkey and North America, thus all of the 2004 Duramax Diesel Trucks have a heritage and tradition of mechanical excellence. Isuzu has been focusing on providing durable, reliable, clean diesel power for more than 70 years. The Isuzu diesel engine designers' main goal was to develop, build and produce a diesel engine for use in light-duty, full-size pickup trucks that was more powerful than anything the auto industry had seen. The Duramax Turbo Diesel 6600 was the engine to meet their remarkably bold goal and it is this reliable engine which is currently 2004 Duramax Diesel Trucks; albeit with a few minor mechanical issues which may require service.

The Mighty 2004 Chevy Duramax Diesel

Technicians have found that some 2001 - 2004 GM 6.6L diesel owners of pickup trucks such as the 2004 Chevy Duramax Diesel reported an engine coolant loss without any visible leaks. There have also been complaints of excessive white smoke from 2004 Duramax Diesel engines. GM suggests that the white smoke or an odor of coolant from the exhaust, as well as reduced coolant levels, could indicate that coolant is getting into the combustion chamber of a 2004 Chevy Duramax Diesel.

Indestructible 2004 Duramax Diesel Engine

It's possible that 2004 Duramax Diesel engine coolant may have entered the cylinder by way of a damaged or dirty seal between the cylinder head and the fuel injector sleeve of the 2004 Duramax Diesel Engine. This doesn't necessarily mean that all the 2004 Duramax Diesel enginefuel injector sleeves are leaking so a proper pressure test performed on the 2004 Duramax Diesel Engine cylinder head will indicate which ones need to be replaced.

2004 Diesel Duramax Fuel Injection Leaks

When the leaking 2004 Duramax Diesel fuel injector sleeves have been located in the 2004 Diesel Duramax, they are then removed from the cylinder head by use of a sleeve removal/installation tool. Once removed, the inside of the sleeve of the 2004 Duramax Diesel is inspected for damage on the sealing surface. Loose fuel injectors allow it and the sleeve to get bounced around within the cylinder head which results in coolant seeping into the cylinder. Damage to this area of the engine of the 2004 Diesel Duramax could indicate a loose injector was installed incorrectly in the 2004 Duramax Diesel or that a copper washer was missing, so any damaged components in the 2004 Duramax Diesel will be replaced by the General Motors technician.

2004 Duramax Diesel Specs

2004 Duramax Diesel Specs for the 2004 Duramax Diesel LLY engine introduced halfway through the 2004 model year call for a 6,599 cubic centimeter (or 402.7 cubic inch) intercooled and Bosch High Pressure Common-rail turbocharged, overhead valve, four valve per cylinder, eight cylinder diesel engine with a compression ratio of 17.5:1, and a bore of 4.06 inches (103.1 millimeters) and a stroke of 3.90 inches (99.1 millimeters). The 2004 Duramax Diesel Specs for this 2004 Duramax Diesel LLY engine specify that it generates 310 brake horsepower (230 kW) at 3000rpm and an outstanding 605 foot pounds (820 N·m) of torque at 1600 rpm.
