The 5.9 Cummins is a part of the Cummins B Series. The engine was developed by a joint venture with Cummins and Case Corporation. The Cummins 5.9 is a part of a group of straight four cylinders and 6-cylinder diesel truck and some industrial piston engines. The 5.9 series or B series is used in multiple segments like the Dodge Ram truck, construction equipment, buses and even military vehicles.

The 5.9 diesel engines was originally designed for commercial trucks and also was used in light trucks like the Dodge Ram, It has an impressive 610 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm, not to mention the outstanding acceleration from the 325 horse power at 2900 RPM.
