Used Freestar: Great Minivan Value
A Used Freestar can now be had for a very reasonable price as when it came to the debut of the Freestar, Ford quickly learned that within the world of vehicles, there are few divisions more competitive than the minivan industry. Parents have mercilessly high standards for the transportation of their families; only vehicles with the most desirable blend of features, convenience, luxury elements and refinement will suffice, but that does not detract from the value of a Used Freestar. The Used Freestar did not generate great sales when new, and as a consequence, saw its last days of production in 2007. From then on there were nothing but Used Freestar vans on the market. Ford now believes that Crossovers are the new way of family transportation which is one of the reasons that make a Used Freestar such a good deal.
The Line Premiered With The 2004 Freestar
Introduced as a replacement for the Windstar, the 2004 Freestar debuted late in 2003. Even though Ford hyped the now Used Freestar as a completely new vehicle, the minivan wasn't much more than a rebranded Windstar with some minor upgrades, such as a redesigned interior with a fold-down rear seat. Much to the chagrin of the Blue Oval Corporation, the 2004 Freestar was immediately crushed by the competition, domestic and import, and Ford failed to resolve the situation which led to the presence of many Used Freestar vans on the market today.
The 2005 Freestar Was Upgraded By Ford
The 2005 Freestar was upgraded with minor improvements over the previous model year. Depending on the trim chosen, two engines are available in a Used Freestar. For the SE, a 3.9L V6 engine generated 193 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. For the Limited and SEL models, you got a 4.2L V6 engine provided 201 horsepower and 26, pound-feet of torque. These are durable engines and hold up well in the Used Freestar. Unfortunately, neither 2005 Freestar engine was very economical, offering some of the poorest fuel economy numbers in the division.
The 2006 Freestar Came In 3 Trim Levels
The base trim 2006 Freestar SE, and the Used Freestar from that model year today, comes fairly well equipped with full power accessories, keyless entry, CD player and air conditioning all standard. The SEL offered additional three-zone air conditioning, second-row captain's seats and a power drive chair: An excellent equipment roster for a Used Freestar. The 2006 Freestar Limited edition was top of the line and included attractive upgrades such as leather upholstery, auto climate control and chrome wheels, and it is the most luxurious Used Freestar available now.
2007 Freestar Was Also Available As A Cargo Van
The 2007 Freestar boasted a seven-passenger capacity, and today Used Freestars can be found in three different levels of trim: Limited, SE and SEL. The Used Freestar is also available to be located with a cargo style body, making it perfect for contractors who need a light-duty supply hauler instead of a conventional 2007 Freestar set up for hauling families
The Freestar Van Was Not A Huge Market Success
The Ford Freestar Van wasn't entirely lacking in merit. One of the most important minivan factors is safety, and in that area, the Used Freestar still meets the challenge. A Used Freestar received a perfect five star rating in NHTSA front end crash tests in its model year. Mothers and mini soccer stars interested in a Used Freestar are safeguarded by safety features of the Freestar Van, such as possible side-curtain airbags and standard stability control... which makes a Used Freestar still a very safe minivan. |
