Powerstroke 7.3 Diesel Generated 250 Horses
This first true Powerstroke 7.3 Diesel produced a satisfying 250 brake horsepower (190 kW) and 525 foot pounds (712 N·m) of torque which was certainly competitive in the field that the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel was participating in, as Dodge and General Motors were trying hard to keep up. The 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel featured hydraulic electronic unit injectors known as HEUIs as fuel injectors and the fuel was circulated by a HPOP (high pressure oil pump) which brought the fluids up to the pressures necessary to achieve proper injection of the fuel in the Powerstroke 7.3 Diesel.
7.3 Powerstroke Diesel Was Reliable & Durable
Powerstroke Diesel 7.3 Later Got An Intercooler
The very first 7300 cc diesel engine produced by Ford Motor Company premiered in 1988 and ran in manufacture until the year 1993 when the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel had its debut. This primary 7.3 Liter diesel motor was not a 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel as it was not turbocharged and was fed via an indirect injection system. In later versions of this engine, the turbocharger was added and considerable more power was the result. However, this engine is not to be considered a 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel as the first motor to carry the moniker was the 1994 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel engine which was the first to have direct injection as well as electronic fuel injectors and thus was born the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel.
Powerstroke Diesel 7.3 Later Got An Intercooler

7.3 L Powerstroke Diesel Had Low Exhaust Gas Temperatures
In 1999 the Powerstroke Diesel 7.3 got an intercooler that was set up as an air to air system. This intercooler acted to lower the temperature of the air that was charged from the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel turbocharger assembly in order to make it denser and allow for greater combustibility of the fuel air mixture in the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. As the denser, cooler air was introduced into the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel cylinders for combustion, a greater amount of horsepower was released, and thus the Powerstroke Diesel 7.3 generated much of the performance that it has become legendary for.
