Corvettes
The latest incarnations of the legendary Chevrolet Corvettes are available as a coupe with a removable roof and the famous convertible body style. It is also available in three primary trim levels: the base Corvettes and then the higher powered versions Corvettes, the Z06 Corvettes and the ZR1 Super Corvettes. These two super high performance Corvettes are only available as coupes with a fixed roof and not as convertibles. The reason for this is because the Corvettes' convertible version does not have as strong a chassis due to the fact that it is missing a roof and the extra power of the Z06 and ZR1 creates too much torsion within the chassis of these super-powered Corvettes for proper handling.
Corvette Cars Compete With Ferrari & Lamborghini
Although Corvette Cars are now competing with Lamborghini and Ferrari in the super sports car category, it is still a friendly and easy car to live with. The cockpit of the Corvettes has extremely generous ergonomics and the Corvettes' seats are exceptionally comfortable as well as providing lumbar and side support that you would expect from a world class sports car. The hatchback body-style available of the Corvettes provides an outrageous cargo capacity of 22 cubic feet in the coupe model. This spaciousness in the Corvette Cars is many times greater than other super cars who often have room only for two bags of groceries in the back.
High Performance Corvette Parts
The master Corvette Parts bin at General Motors also provides buyers with a selection of three suspensions: the standard suspension, an optional Magnetic Ride Control suspension which has both touring and sport modes, and the top of the line super sports Z51 which is ready for virtually any racing track in the world. This judicious application of high performance Corvette Parts allows the Corvettes to be setup for virtually any driving style. From daily commutes in stop-and-go traffic, all the way to opening up at the Nürburgring, the Z06 and the ZR1 Corvettes can still handle conventional driving challenges of regular highway speeds and city traffic.
Corvettes Are Truly Worthy Of The Title Of Supercars
The standard Corvettes come with a basic 6.2L 8 cylinder engine that generates 430 horsepower. This powerful motor is set up with either a six speed transmission as manual or as an option, a six speed transmission that is automatic. When we get all the way to the top of the range of Corvettes to the mighty ZR1, we arrive at the world class sports car that the Corvettes have now become. There is a supercharged V8 engine of 6.2 liter displacement under the hood. This thoroughly amazing motor packs 638 brake horsepower and of course is only available with a manual six speed transmission in these rarefied and jaw-dropping Corvettes.
Corvette Z06: A Supercar In Its Own Right
When the Corvette Z06 model was introduced with its mighty 505 brake horsepower, (7 Liter) engine mated with the innovative six speed transmission, America's greatest sports car received considerably larger brakes for the Corvettes' versions that were equipped with Magnetic Ride and also a very attractive and durable two-tone interior made of fine leather. Although the Corvette Z06 is truly worthy of the title supercar, the ZR1 then has to be called a hypercar, as no other possible name can apply for a car that is that powerful and handles so well at top racing speeds.
